Discover My Step-by-Step Distant Reiki Routine (and the Tool I Swear By!)
Distant Reiki sessions can be just as transformative as in-person ones, especially when supported by the right tools and techniques. Over time, I’ve refined my approach to ensure each session flows smoothly and effectively. One tool that’s become indispensable in my practice is a Merkaba Reiki board, which I use as a surrogate during distant healing and crystal Reiki sessions.
In this blog post, I’ll not only share why I love using this Reiki board but also walk you through my step-by-step routine for conducting a distant Reiki session.
Why I Love My Reiki Board
The Reiki board offers a sturdy and intentional alternative to paper printouts. It acts as a focal point for channelling energy during sessions and is ideal for crystal Reiki work. Here’s why it’s become a go-to tool in my practice:
Energetic Precision: The board’s sacred geometry enhances the flow of energy, making my sessions feel more aligned and impactful.
Versatility: I can easily incorporate crystals by placing them directly on the board to amplify healing.
Sustainability: Unlike paper, the board is durable and designed for long-term use.
Organization: I keep session notes separate, which helps me focus on the client during the session and keeps discussions clear afterwards.
My Distant Reiki Healing Routine
A successful distant Reiki session starts with preparation and ends with grounding.Every Reiki practitioner develops their own unique routine and way of working with the symbols. There’s no single “right” way. Only what feels comfortable and effective for each individual in helping others receive Reiki. My routine is inspired by the practices of several other practitioners whose articles and blogs I’ve read, but ultimately, it’s tailored to how I prefer to prepare myself and my space for each session. Here’s my step-by-step routine:
1. Check Technology
Before starting, I ensure my technology is working—video call software, microphone, and internet connection. This prevents interruptions and creates a seamless experience.
2. Clear My Mind and Space
Meditation: I begin with a short meditation to clear my mind and align my energy.
Clearing the Space: Using the Sei He Ki symbol, I cleanse the room energetically, drawing the symbol in each corner to create a calm and protected environment.
3. Initial Client Contact
I make the video call and connect with the client, ensuring they feel at ease.
Once introductions are complete, the client moves to a quiet, comfortable space. We leave the audio open for communication but turn off cameras if the client prefers.
4. Creating a Relaxing Atmosphere
I play soft, calming music in the background.
If the client seems tense, I guide them with a few words to relax their body and mind.
5. Begin the Reiki Session
Gassho Meditation: I explain this practice to the client—it involves bringing hands together in a prayer position and focusing on gratitude and intention.
Reiji-Ho: I connect with the client’s energy and ask for guidance in delivering what they need.
Use the Merkaba Board: I place the board on a stable surface and use it as a surrogate for the client’s energy body during the session.
6. Reiki Healing Process
Byosen Scan: I perform an energetic scan over the board to identify areas that need extra attention.
Symbols and Hand Positions: I incorporate symbols such as Cho Ku Rei, Sei He Ki, and others as needed while following traditional hand positions.
Crystal Placement: For Crystal Reiki, I place stones on the board in alignment with the client’s energy centres.
7. Closing the Session
I sense when the session is nearing its end and draw the Cho Ku Rei symbol over the heart area of the board.
Using energetic techniques, I cleanse the aura and ensure the client feels grounded.
8. Grounding the Client
I suggest grounding techniques such as:
Breathing Exercises: Deep breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth.
Visualization: Imagining roots extending from their feet into the earth.
Physical Grounding: Drinking water or walking barefoot on the ground after the session.
This structured routine, paired with my trusty Reiki board, has elevated my distant healing practice. It allows me to connect deeply with clients and provide a healing experience that feels tangible and supportive.
If you’re a Reiki practitioner or simply curious, I highly recommend the Merkaba Reiki board. It’s a small but powerful addition to any healing practice. You can check it out here.
Let me know if you give it a try—or if you incorporate any of these steps into your own routine!
